Zach Deal

I am honored and humbled to again be a WOASF scholarship recipient! I would like to thank the Wings Over America Scholarship and the VAW/VRC Scholarship foundations, and all the donors for their generosity and support. My first year at the University of Notre Dame has been nothing short of amazing. While it has been challenging due to COVID-19 protocols, as a freshman I have fostered new friendships, excelled in my studies, and been involved in on-campus activities. I cannot describe how fortunate I feel to be able to attend the University of Notre Dame. We were determined to not only be on-campus this year, but to be able to attend classes in-person as well. Through the hard work of faculty, staff, and my fellow students we made that a reality. By being able to attend home football games, participate in campus activities, and meet incredible people from arounds the world, I have made memories that will last forever. WOASF has helped make this all possible. These scholarships also honor my father’s 27-year military career supporting Naval Aviation, and for this I am truly grateful.
