Claudia Gemmel

I am thrilled to be selected as a VAW/VRC Merit scholar. Thank you to all the service members, donors and volunteers who support the organization and make these generous student opportunities possible year after year. While growing up in the Hawkeye/Greyhound family and actively participation in the Civil Air Patrol, I have learned first-hand the importance of commitment, dedication, and hard work. I am grateful for and am inspired by the sacrifices, self-discipline, and selflessness of so many others who have paved the way for our country’s future. Upon completion of my studies, I look forward to following in my father and brother’s footsteps by serving as a commissioned officer in the military. While I embrace the challenges of attending college, the ever-increasing rate of college tuition adds to those challenges. It is imperative to me to remain fiscally responsible and resourceful. This scholarship will absolutely support that endeavor and will relieve some of my financial burden while I pursue my passion for chemistry at Cedarville University. I look forward to working diligently and representing all that this scholarship embodies.
