Guinevere Pomeroy

I would like to take the time to say thank you to the VAW/VRC Merit Scholarship program for helping me achieve my dreams. This scholarship means that I can continue reaching for my future and start on my college path, all the while relieving the burden of debt to my family. This scholarship allows me to keep forging ahead without having to be weighed down as much by student loans. I plan on attending James Madison University and pursuing a degree in Biology. I have always been fascinated with birds and plan to become and ornithologist. Following in the footsteps of my older sister, attending James Madison University was a wish I hoped to come true. There, I plan on joining the club Cross Country team as well as the track and field team. Running has been a sport I’ve done since freshman years, and I hope to continue in college. I have also written for my school’s magazine throughout high school, and I would love to be able to write for the college as well. This scholarship ensures my ability to attend the school of my choice and follow the plan I have for myself. One last thank you to the wonderful organization that allowed for all this to happen.
