Being able to receive a VAW/VRC Officers Spouses’ Association scholarship means that I get to be able to continue my life-long passion for photography and film. Being a child of two military veterans and hearing their stories of traveling to many places in the world has always inspired me to expand my love of the arts abroad. Because of this scholarship I can stay in school and stay on track to achieve my professional goals. Along my educational journey I also want to give back to those who helped me along the way. I hope to use my skills that I am learning to do just that! There is no doubt that having less financial stress allows me the time I need to study and focus on my education. I believe that just like our oceans there is much uncharted territory for my life outside of college. But I always remember that when the water gets choppy, I keep moving forward. I am so incredibly appreciative of this scholarship. I plan to stay focused, never forget where I came from, and learn my craft to build my future one frame at a time! I am so appreciative of the opportunity provided to me by this scholarship fund, and I will make every effort to achieve success.
