I am super honored and excited to receive a Wings Over America & VAW/VRC Merit scholarship for upcoming school year! This is scholarship helps pay for my tuition to Virginia Tech, where I plan on pursuing a major civil engineering in the five-year master’s program.

Through a high school internship, I have uncovered my passion for the land development branch of civil engineering, specifically storm water management. Problems of flood and poor water quality are widespread across the entire coasts due to storms and erosion.

I hope that through what I learn in college and specialized courses in my major, I can help make a difference for the millions of people living in these areas. I am looking forward to the rigorous program at Virginia Tech and cannot wait to expand my horizons in the fields of math and science – all made possible with the help of the Wings Over America Scholarship & VAW/VRC Merit scholarship programs.
