I would like to express my sincere gratitude towards the VAW/VRC Merit Scholarship program and the gracious donors who have made this scholarship possible. I am greatly humbled and feel privileged to be selected as a recipient of this scholarship from the Wings Over America Foundation for the 2023-24 academic year. The support that Wings Over America has provided me over the course of my three years of academic studies has been truly amazing and has provided much needed relief for myself and my family. This support has allowed me to pursue a degree in elementary education and compete on a Division 1 cross country and track team. Through this scholarship, I have had the privilege to be more involved in my academic and athletic pursuits without the added stress of how I will cover the cost of tuition. As a soon-to-be teacher, this financial support is something I do not take for granted. With more time to focus on my academics, I have been able to get more hands-on experience with students and grow my understanding of what it means to be a successful and influential teacher. Thank you again Wings Over America, and all of those who have contributed towards the scholarships. The investments made to my education will be seen throughout the years of future students.
