I am incredibly grateful to be chose as a VAW/VRC Scholarship recipient. Given my father’s 21+ years of service in the VAW/VRC community, this scholarship reason more than just financial support. It signifies the fulfillment of my lifelong ambition, a connection to my family’s heritage, and the pursuit of a higher calling as a Naval Officer and Naval Aviator.

Growing up around the VAW/VRC community, I have witnessed firsthand the camaraderie, resilience, and unwavering commitment that define this close-knit group. From deployment fly-ins to airshows to other squadron social events, every experience has fueled my passion for aviation and instilled a deep respect for those who serve. The WOASF VAW/VRC Merit Scholarship acknowledges my potential and honors the sacrifices my family has made for the nation. Being chosen as a recipient fills me with immense pride. Beyond financial aid, this scholarship serves as a catalyst for my aspiration to become a Naval Officer and a Naval Aviator. It provides me with the means to pursue a quality education at VMI, an essential step towards realizing my dreams. I am determined to make the most of the opportunity, understanding that it propels me towards a promising future and a lifetime of service.
