About Corey

I am truly honored and grateful for being selected as a recipient of a VAW/VRC Merit scholarship. I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to apply for the scholarship due to my father’s honorable service in the world’s finest United States Navy. I have worked extremely hard in school as well as extracurricular activities in order to win this scholarship and I will continue to thrive as I start my college journey in the fall of 2025 with a slightly less financial burden on me and my parents. I will attend Tuskegee University to pursue a major in Computer Engineering. I’ve always had an engineering mindset since a young age. Throughout middle and high school, I have taken engineering type classes such as STEM, Into to Engineering, Principles of Engineering, and currently I am in an engineering internship in which I am creating a virtual reality video game. As a student going to a university three hours away from home, this scholarship will allow me to focus more on excelling academically in the classroom rather than worrying about how my college will be paid for by my parents.
