Receiving this scholarship means much more than just the finances. The honor bestowed upon me by the Wings Over America Foundation and VAW/VRC in the form of these scholarships is symbolic of the unwavering support of the military community. The community surrounding the military and its many members continues to be invaluable to our society, providing strength, camaraderie, and aid to much of society.

In addition to serving our country, this strong community gives back, in important programs and scholarships like Wings Over America. I am honored to have the support that is represented by these scholarships, especially due to my father’s long service in the military and the lessons I have learned from him.

This award means I will have the values and ideals of America and its heroes behind me in all my endeavors of the future, enabling me to do my best in school and beyond. It signifies future success and positive action, enabled by the immense backing of the military community of the United States.
