Lauren Stone

I am extremely grateful and honored to be receiving a VAW/VRC Merit scholarship for the upcoming school year. I will be attending the University of Washington, where I plan to major in medical laboratory science after completing two years of pre-health sciences prerequisites. I have always had a passion for science and healthcare, and this scholarship will help further my education and allow me to broaden my horizons, exploring other possibilities on the pre-health track as well. This award is also in recognition of all my hard work and effort in high school, as well as my volunteer efforts and leadership experience. Having grown up in the Hawkeye community, I would also like to acknowledge their continued support and presence in my life. I am looking forward to being able to continue to serve my community, whether that be in a laboratory or in a hospital, and I would like to thank the Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation and VAW/VRC merit scholarship programs for their financial support in my college endeavors.
