Opening my email on a random Thursday and being told I was obtaining a scholarship was one of the best days. Reading that I had received the VAW/VRC Merit scholarship, jumping with excitement, and calling my dad to tell him the news was a moment I will never forget. He was so happy for me because we had been trying to figure out ways to help pay for college. I was highly stressed that I had not received any scholarships to help pay for my college attendance before this moment; then, I was truly blessed with the VAW/VRC Merit scholarship. This will truly change my life for the better, and I am entirely grateful. Scholarships are hard to receive and being able to receive this one was a euphoric experience. Now, I can worry less about the college education expenses and focus more on the college experience. This application and award of this scholarship is the most satisfactory experience I have ever attained. Thus, I am forever grateful that I was picked out of many quality applicants, and I will cherish this moment between my family and me forever.
