I am honored and thankful to have been selected to receive a 2019 VAW/VRC Merit Scholarship through the Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation. It is an exciting feeling to be recognized for my academic and athletic achievements, extra-curricular activities and community service.
This scholarship award will help fund my freshman year at James Madison University, and it gives me a strong sense of personal pride knowing I have been able to help contribute to my education. I’m especially honored to have been chosen for this scholarship by members of the VAW/VRC community. My father is proud to have served his Navy career alongside so many members of the Hawkeye-Greyhound community, and the VAW/VRC Officers’ Spouses’ Association helps to honor the memory of some of his dearest friends.
