There is no better feeling that that of knowing what you are doing matters to someone. I am a student training in my field, but alongside that, I am an artist through and through. By financially supporting my educational journey, the Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation has given me a two-fold gift. Not only have they given me the financial backing I need to receive a quality arts education, but they have also assured me that my work, my passion, and my desire to created meaningful art matters. The country that my father and many others in my family pledged their service to in the Armed Forces is a marvelous place. Because of the protection provided by the brave men and women who serve, U.S. citizens are able to not only live in peace, but to thrive! We have the liberty to pursue our passions, to express ourselves freely without fear, and even to help other people by sharing our gifts and stories. That is how I choose to serve my country, and receiving a 2022 scholarship from Wings Over America enables me to do that without fear of future financial burden. Their support encourages me even on the difficult days to get up and keep going, because they believe the work, I am doing is important and necessary. That matters more to me than I could ever put into words.
